Dunbar Gaming Board Transparency Measure Scores Unanimous House Approval
HARRISBURG – Sponsored by Rep. George Dunbar (R-Westmoreland), legislation to require the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) to make budgetary guidelines for all board members and employees publicly available, including a salary matrix, unanimously passed the House on Monday.

House Bill 2014 is now awaiting consideration in the Senate Community, Economic and Recreational Development Committee.

“Pennsylvania taxpayers have the right to know just how much of their money is being spent on the daily operations and salaries of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board,” said Dunbar, who is secretary of the House Gaming Oversight Committee. “My legislation is all about ensuring maximum transparency and top-to-bottom integrity for Pennsylvania’s gaming industry.”

Introduced due to grand jury recommendations released several months ago, Dunbar’s legislation is one of two bills from the Gaming Control Board Rehabilitation legislative package to be adopted by the House on Monday. House Bill 2007 would require the PGCB to include a listing of the number of executive sessions conducted each year and the agenda for each session in its annual report.
